Iran says it is not concerned by new 'Mecca Joint Defence Agreement'

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey signed a new mutual security agreement, the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, in the holy city on Friday. Per Middle East Eye, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran is not concerned the pact is directed against Iran, and instead characterized it as reflecting a broader shift in regional security approach—one that favors the states' own capabilities over reliance on outside powers.
