President Zardari approves additional judges' appointments to high courts after days-long delay

On Tuesday, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the appointment of additional judges to five high courts—Lahore, Sindh, Peshawar, Islamabad, and Balochistan—ending a days-long delay. The appointments had been pending since mid-July, when the Judicial Commission of Pakistan recommended them, according to a presidency statement. Zardari also approved the confirmation of certain additional judges from the Sindh and Lahore High Courts as permanent judges.
