Islamabad's Capital Development Authority is building another underpass, this one at Margalla Road and Eighth Avenue near the Faisal Mosque. Per journalist Arifa Noor in Dawn, this continues a pattern of rapid infrastructure projects that degrades the city's green character and turns it into what she calls a grey shadow of Lahore. She also points out that recent construction has revealed poor durability after monsoons, and that audit concerns about design flaws in another nearby underpass went largely unheeded — a symptom, she argues, of the deeper issue: these decisions happen without genuine public consultation or accountability.
