RTL Group Posts 3.9% Revenue Rise as Streaming Side Grows, Though Fremantle Continues to Suffer

RTL Group, a major European media conglomerate, reported first-half earnings on Tuesday showing revenue up three point nine percent to two point nine billion euros—about three point three billion dollars. Streaming proved to be the group's bright spot with strong growth, though linear television and its Fremantle content production arm both saw revenues decline. The group's revenue base was also boosted by its June acquisition of Sky Deutschland, a pay-TV operation from Comcast.
