Israeli settler who took part in brutal assault on Palestinians released from house arrest

world

An Israeli settler accused of taking part in a brutal March attack on the Palestinian community of Khirbet Humsa, in the occupied West Bank, has been released from house arrest, Middle East Eye reports. During the assault, six settlers reportedly bound Palestinians of all ages with zip-ties and beat them with wooden sticks, and one man was stripped and paraded in front of his family. The Israeli army said Tal Yinon Dardik must now report to a police station twice daily, after a court ruled his previous house-arrest location was untenable. Israel's Defence Minister had publicly criticized the restrictions on Dardik and pushed to prevent his detention from being renewed.
