SpaceX launches 29 Starlink satellites to orbit from Florida (photos)

SpaceX launched another batch of Starlink internet satellites to orbit from Cape Canaveral in Florida. A Falcon 9 rocket carrying twenty-nine broadband spacecraft lifted off at eleven fifty-eight a.m. Eastern time, with the first stage making a pinpoint landing on the company's droneship in the Atlantic just eight and a half minutes later. Space.com reports this was the eighteenth flight for the specific booster, which has also launched astronauts to the International Space Station and polar research missions. The satellites will reach low Earth orbit about sixty-four minutes after liftoff. This was SpaceX's ninety-third Falcon 9 launch of the year, with seventy-two dedicated to building out Starlink, which now consists of more than ten thousand nine hundred active satellites—and the company has ambitions to eventually operate a hundred thousand larger, more capable satellites in orbit.
