Ali, who owned the eatery Wafflix, had gone missing in late July before his body was found days later in Karachi's Gulistan-i-Jauhar; his family's lawyer alleges police mishandled evidence, including holding his smartwatch for over a week without documentation. The investigation team is now pursuing geofencing around the crime scene and the victim's phone records as they await further lab results.
