The House Democratic money machine is coming for GOP Rep. Max Miller
politics
Democrats are making an unexpected play for an Ohio House seat that should be safely Republican. Axios reports the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added Brian Poindexter, the Democratic challenger, to its top targets in Ohio's seventh district—which Trump carried by eleven percentage points in twenty twenty-four. A recent poll shows Poindexter leading incumbent Republican Max Miller by eight points, forty-three to thirty-five percent, prompting major Democratic groups including the House Majority PAC and the Working Families Party to pour money into the race. Miller has faced pressure from Republicans to withdraw over domestic abuse allegations, which he denies; the Saturday deadline to drop off the ballot passed, and he's staying in the race. As one Ohio Democrat put it: Max is losing.
