Senator Darline Graham advances to runoff in South Carolina Republican primary
politics
The Guardian reports that Darline Graham, appointed to complete her late brother Lindsey Graham's Senate term, advanced to a runoff in South Carolina's Republican primary. Graham held a narrow lead in the special primary on Tuesday, but the race for second place was extremely close—Congressmen Russell Fry and Ralph Norman and former Governor Mark Sanford polled within a single point of each other. She has secured high-profile support, including endorsements from Donald Trump, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune. The runoff is scheduled for August twenty-five.
