The Guardian reports an independent member of parliament has lodged an allegation with Australia's anti-corruption commission, claiming the government is improperly influenced by the gambling lobby. Education minister Jason Clare says a funding agreement with Victoria to bring public schools to Gonski standard levels is very close, noting he's already struck ten-year agreements with every other state and territory across the country.
