Trump’s net approval is near record low, with Democrats favoured to gain control of Congress at midterms

politics

The Conversation reports Trump's net approval has fallen to near record lows at negative twenty point four following the resumption of the Iran war. That puts him below any sitting president since Harry Truman at this point in their term. With midterm elections on November third, Democrats are favoured to gain control of Congress. They lead the generic ballot by six point seven points, with forecasts showing a fifty-seven percent chance to win the Senate and eighty-six percent for the House. Yet the economy tells a complicated story: while the stock market surged eleven point three percent since late February, July's jobs report showed twenty-three thousand positions lost, with the employment-to-population ratio falling to fifty-eight point nine percent—its lowest since September twenty twenty-one.
