Massive bailout for Australia’s largest aluminium smelter expected to be announced by PM and NSW premier

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and New South Wales Premier Chris Minns are preparing to announce a major bailout for Australia's largest aluminium smelter, Tomago. The Guardian reports the government package could be worth as much as two point five billion dollars. Rio Tinto, the resources company operating the facility, said it was contemplating closure when its current electricity supply contract expires.
