US charges 11 in sham marriage immigration scheme involving Chinese nationals

The U.S. Justice Department has charged eleven people in connection with a sham marriage immigration scheme. Channel NewsAsia reports that federal officials believe more than one thousand marriages were arranged over the past decade, primarily to help Chinese nationals obtain green cards. The alleged scheme involved at least fourteen active members of the United States Army.
