A Tape Deck Gets a Service

Ken's Shop recently documented the full service of a vintage Realistic cassette deck from the late nineteen seventies or eighties—a video Hackaday is highlighting as satisfying viewing. Despite being common in second-hand electronics shops, these decks prove surprisingly well-built; restoration typically amounts to cleaning, lubrication, belt replacement, and perhaps an azimuth adjustment.
