So much solar: Digging into the list of every US power plant that went online this year

The first six months of twenty twenty-six saw three hundred sixty-eight new utility-scale power plants across the US, Ars Technica reports, with solar leading the way. The largest project was a pair of New Mexico wind farms—SunZia Wind South and SunZia Wind North—forming the country's biggest wind complex, with a combined capacity of three thousand six hundred fifty megawatts. After a decade in development, SunZia arrives as US onshore wind expansion has been slowing due to regulatory and public opinion challenges.
