Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of Congo now deadliest in country’s history

The Democratic Republic of Congo is now facing its deadliest Ebola outbreak on record, with at least two thousand three hundred twenty-five deaths, according to government data. The Guardian reports that confirmed cases have climbed to four thousand nine hundred forty-five, including one hundred one new cases logged in a single recent day. The toll has now surpassed that of the country's 2018-to-2020 outbreak, which was previously its worst.
