Public in England and Wales wrongly think most killers are minority ethnic

New research from King's College London shows that the public in England and Wales significantly overestimates both the proportion of killers from minority ethnic backgrounds and the number of foreign national offenders. The Guardian reports on the study, which was conducted amid efforts by far-right political parties to link crime to ethnicity and nationality for electoral advantage. The research found that Reform voters' perceptions were furthest from the facts.
