US vaccination rates fall again as exemptions continue to rise, CDC data shows

health

Ars Technica reports on new CDC data showing US school vaccination rates have declined again. Kindergarten coverage for the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine dropped to ninety-two point four percent in the twenty twenty-five to twenty twenty-six school year, down from ninety-two point five percent the previous year. Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis coverage fell similarly, to ninety-two percent. The declines continue a downward pattern dating back to the twenty nineteen-twenty school year, when US vaccination rates stood near ninety-five percent—the threshold health officials say is necessary to prevent disease outbreaks in communities.
