Seniors in Medicare are about to get landmark obesity drug coverage — but many may not know it yet

Starting July first, Medicare will cover obesity medications for seniors — a landmark policy shift in drug access. According to CNBC, however, the rollout faces a notable challenge: many seniors may not yet realize the benefit exists. Limited promotion so far from both the government and pharmaceutical makers, including Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk, means eligible seniors could miss this new access to treatments like Ozempic and Wegovy.
