Five new wasp species discovered in Cyprus, including one named after Aphrodite
science
In Cyprus, scientists have described five new parasitoid wasp species, including one named after Aphrodite, per Phys.org. These small insects in the family Pteromalidae are natural pest controllers, yet they remain poorly studied across southeastern Europe and the Middle East. The discovery more than doubles the number of chalcid wasps found nowhere else on the island.
