‘Prepare early’: bushfire authorities sound alarm for NT, NSW and Queensland

Per The Guardian, fire authorities have warned that much of the Northern Territory will face heightened fire danger throughout spring, as above‑average fuel loads and low soil moisture leave the landscape vulnerable. The warning also extends to parts of New South Wales and south‑east Queensland, where an intensifying El Niño system and the spread of fire‑promoting buffel grass are raising the risk. Officials are urging residents to prepare early as the conditions worsen.
