South Korean, U.S. militaries shorten drills after Trump ordered reduction

The Hindu reports that the U.S. and South Korean militaries began their summertime Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises on Monday for an eleven-day run, just after President Trump ordered his Pentagon chief to substantially reduce them. The annual joint drills are a key part of the allies' defense cooperation.
