Quick Share Implemented On A Kindle

tech

Hackaday reports that a developer known as unrealJune has added Android's Quick Share capability to jailbroken Kindle e‑readers. The Quick Share plugin runs within KOReader on a Kindle that has been modified with the Kindle Unified Application Launcher, and requires SSH access as well as a machine with Go and Docker to compile. The implementation is receive‑only, meaning the Kindle can automatically accept files but cannot send them, and it can even create its own Wi‑Fi hotspot when no network is present. This gives Kindle owners a new, albeit one‑way, way to transfer files without needing a computer.
