If Aliens Exist, We Should Expect to Find Them Around Now

A new theory suggests that if extraterrestrials exist, we are currently in the most likely window to detect them. As LessWrong tells it, the rapid, exponential growth of sensor technology and photon capture in recent decades has far surpassed the stagnant detection capabilities of the human past. The author argues that if technological progress follows an S-curve that eventually plateaus, our current position on the steepest part of that curve represents our best chance for a breakthrough.
