The Supreme Court of Pakistan has postponed a hearing until September seventeenth regarding applications filed by rights activists Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha. As Dawn tells it, the couple is seeking an expedited hearing for a criminal appeal after a lower court refused to suspend their seventeen-year sentences tied to a case involving social media posts. During the proceedings, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan dismissed concerns that the case might vanish from the legal system, assuring the applicants that the court remains present to oversee the matter.
