Ex-Pakistan PM Khan taken back to jail after hospital checks

Per France 24, former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan was taken back to jail early Friday, just hours after being escorted for court‑mandated health checks at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. The Supreme Court had ordered his transfer within 48 hours after his lawyers warned that his health was deteriorating. A late‑year ruling had sentenced Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to seventeen years in prison. Now he returns to the prison where he had been held before his hospitalization.
