entertainment

Gabriele Stötzer was one of the most radical artists in communist East Germany, creating despite material poverty and regime oppression. She recalls the impossible choices of those days: deciding between buying a sausage or film for her Super eight camera. Her art was born from defiance—a desire to create under circumstances designed to stifle freedom.
