[$] Considering the OpenMDW license

LWN.net reports that the Linux Foundation’s Mike Dolan has submitted a new OpenMDW license to the Open Source Initiative for approval. The OpenMDW – standing for Open Model, Data, and Weights – is meant to clarify how large language models, their training data and weight files can be shared under open‑source terms. Yet, as with the OSI’s earlier Open AI Definition, the community has not yet reached consensus on the proposal.
