Long-Term Plan – IXPE
science
per NASA Science, the agency has released its Long‑Term Plan for the Imaging X‑ray Polarimetry Explorer, mapping out scheduled observations through twenty twenty‑six. The plan secures observation of guaranteed Category A targets such as the active galaxy ARK 564 while reserving about half of Category C slots for transient sources that may flare unexpectedly. It also notes the mission’s telemetry limits, meaning bright bursts will be broken into multiple segments to keep data flow manageable.
