Sleeper E-bike has Solenoid Display

A builder known as GRMNT has converted his grandfather's vintage Bianchi road bike into a sleeper e-bike. As Hackaday tells it, the project features a rebuilt Bafang mid-drive motor and a hand-built battery pack housed in a leather case. The build is highlighted by a custom solenoid-powered display integrated into the handlebars to provide an electromechanical readout of the battery charge.
