NASA Launches First Scientific Balloon of Fort Sumner Campaign

NASA has launched the first scientific balloon of its twenty twenty-six Fort Sumner campaign. As NASA Science tells it, the Salter mission reached an altitude of approximately one hundred twenty-three thousand feet during a four-hour test flight to evaluate hardware for future missions. The flight also carried a piggyback mission called Cubes in Space, which featured about one hundred small experiments designed by students between the ages of eleven and eighteen.
