BT and Verizon to create joint global business in $4bn deal

British Telecom and Verizon are combining their international operations in a fifty-fifty joint venture. Verizon is paying six hundred twenty-five million dollars to BT to secure equal voting rights. According to the Guardian, the venture will serve over three thousand customers across roughly one hundred eighty countries with four billion dollars in annual revenue. The deal ends BT's eighteen-month search for a buyer of its global division.
