Open-Source ExpressLRS Receiver Reaches for Range

tech

According to Hackaday, an open‑source ExpressLRS receiver built by maker Stan achieved control links of more than one hundred kilometers using a two point four gigahertz band. The design relies on chirp spread spectrum modulation, encoding data in the starting frequency of a linearly rising tone and gaining roughly twenty four decibels of effective boost. In tests the four receivers stayed linked for five kilometers even when a forest blocked the path, showing that simple hardware can punch far beyond its size. The result is a demonstration that long‑range control is achievable with modest components.
