Devastating earthquakes in Venezuela have claimed at least one thousand four hundred fifty lives, with the death toll expected to rise. According to The Guardian, rescue teams from Venezuela, Mexico, and El Salvador coordinated a complex operation to save Aaron Levi Cantillo Vargas, a twenty-one-year-old man who had been trapped under rubble in Caraballeda for more than four days. El Salvador's president called the successful rescue a miracle, and Vargas is now receiving specialized medical care. A four point six magnitude aftershock struck near the capital today with no additional damage reported.
