politics
The Pakistani federal government has authorized the deployment of three army companies in Rawalpindi for a period of six months. Per Dawn, the interior ministry issued the order following a request from the Punjab government to handle sensitive security duties and respond to unforeseen situations. This move comes just over a month before a planned long march by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf party, which claims the event could draw around two million people.
