Mourning Steve French

LWN.net reports the passing of Steve French, the longtime maintainer of the Linux kernel's SMB filesystem code. He had stepped down from that role only last week due to health issues. The news came from Jeremy Allison, who called him a legend in the community and a good friend, adding that he will be greatly missed.
