France 24 reports that the Greek island of Ithaca, famed as the home of Homer's Ulysses, is counting on a surge of visitors after the Hollywood film Odyssey shines a spotlight on it. The movie has highlighted a part of Greece that has largely stayed off the tourist map, unlike Santorini and Mykonos which are now capping cruise arrivals and charging steep entry fees. Ithaca hopes this cinematic attention will translate into a welcome boost for its local economy.
