Dar arrives in UK ahead of official visit starting on Monday

Dawn (Pakistan) reports that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived at Heathrow on Sunday, ahead of a four‑day official visit that starts on Monday. During the trip, he is set to meet UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, FCDO minister Stephen Doughty, the secretary‑general of the International Maritime Organisation to discuss Pakistani crew members held by Somali pirates, and Commonwealth Secretary‑General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, along with British parliamentarians and members of the Pakistani diaspora. The itinerary follows July’s pledge to intensify bilateral trade and June’s agreement on counter‑terrorism, illegal migration and police cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
