Burnham sets out vision to transform Britain and fix ‘broken’ system
politics
Andy Burnham, expected to become Britain's next prime minister, has laid out an ambitious plan to transform the UK. According to The Guardian, his blueprint promises what he calls the biggest rebalancing of power the country has ever seen. His proposals include greater public ownership of essential services like water, energy, and housing to tackle living costs; a major council housing program on postwar scales; high street revival through business rates reform; and a new 'No 10 North' hub to redistribute power and resources from central London across the country. Burnham argues the current system is broken and existing approaches won't solve the country's problems.
