Britain's new defence secretary, Dan Jarvis, has persuaded the government to inject an additional one point five billion pounds into military spending, with most going toward drone development to deter Russia and Iran. According to The Guardian, the funding resolves the eighteen billion pound gap that prompted his predecessor to resign and raised questions about UK NATO commitments. The NATO chief said he remains confident Britain will honour its alliance obligations.
