NASA, Caltech Partner on Two Earth Science Missions

NASA and Caltech have entered into a partnership to manage two Earth science missions focused on carbon observation. As NASA Science tells it, the agreement puts Caltech in charge of operating the science data systems and the Orbiting Carbon Observatory-two and three missions for up to five years. While NASA retains ownership, the collaboration aims to create new data products from instruments that have already outlasted their original prime missions.
