Caltech Mourns the Loss of Trustee Benjamin M. Rosen (1933–2026)

Caltech is mourning trustee emeritus Benjamin Rosen, who died August 23rd at age 93. Rosen earned his engineering degree at Caltech in 1954, studying under Linus Pauling and future Intel co-founder Gordon Moore, before becoming a venture capitalist who backed Compaq, Electronic Arts, and more than a hundred other tech start-ups. Caltech News reports he chaired the university's Board of Trustees and, with his wife Donna, endowed the Rosen Bioengineering Center, which continues its research today. He's survived by his wife and two sons.
