Liberal supreme court justices condemn ‘destabilizing’ ruling that expands Trump’s power to fire regulators – as it happened

The Supreme Court has expanded President Trump's power to fire federal regulators without cause, in a ruling that liberal justices condemned as destabilizing. According to The Guardian, the decision continues a pattern of major wins for the Trump administration at the court. Last week, the justices approved the administration's bid to block asylum seekers at the US-Mexico border and to strip temporary protected status from hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians legally in the United States. Critics have accused the conservative-majority court of advancing a white supremacist agenda through its immigration rulings. The court is also expected to release additional major opinions on Trump's efforts to end birthright citizenship and to fire Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook.
