Mission to retrieve Pakistani climber Asma Mushtaq's body from Spatnik resumes

A rescue team resumed its climb up Spantik on Tuesday to recover the body of Pakistani mountaineer Dr Asma Mushtaq, who died on August twentieth while descending the seven-thousand-twenty-seven-meter peak in Gilgit-Baltistan. According to Dawn, the thirty-four-year-old had just reached the summit and was in good health before developing high-altitude sickness at around six-thousand-four-hundred meters; her guides tried to help but she could not survive. Her body remains at Camp Three after earlier retrieval attempts were delayed by severe weather. The rescue team is now moving toward Camp Two, and Pakistan Army helicopters are expected to airlift her body to Skardu once it reaches base camp.
