Chinese tycoon Guo Wengui sentenced to 30 years in US prison for fraud

Exiled Chinese tycoon Guo Wengui has been sentenced to thirty years in prison for fraud. According to The Guardian, a US federal court convicted him of defrauding thousands out of more than one billion dollars—charges including securities fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering. Guo had gained attention for criticizing China's Communist Party. He was arrested at his Manhattan apartment in March twenty twenty-three and convicted in July twenty twenty-four.
