According to ScienceDaily, creatine—the muscle-building supplement familiar to gym-goers—is now being studied as a potential depression treatment. Researchers reviewed five randomized clinical trials involving two hundred thirty-eight participants to test whether creatine could boost brain energy and improve depression symptoms. Results were mixed: two studies found that adding creatine to standard treatment improved symptoms in women with major depressive disorder, while three found no meaningful benefit.
