EU halves duty-free steel quota but UK and other partners given better rate

According to the Guardian, the European Union is cutting duty-free steel imports in half, targeting cheap Chinese imports. But twelve countries with free trade agreements—including the UK—get preferential treatment: their quotas drop by just one-third instead of fifty percent. Brussels is tightening access for most suppliers while rewarding established trading partners.
