Reform MP chair of Welsh environment committee may ‘undermine scrutiny’, says thinktank

A Welsh environmental committee has appointed a chair whose views may clash with its mission. According to The Guardian, Reform UK MP James Evans has been named to lead the Welsh climate change, environment, and sustainability committee. Evans, a former Conservative who switched to Reform last year, has previously criticized green energy projects. Environmental groups worry this appointment could weaken the committee's ability to scrutinize environmental policy.
