Wildfires kill 12 in Algeria as severe heatwave sweeps North Africa

Wildfires tore through northern Algeria on Wednesday, killing twelve people and injuring dozens as a severe heatwave swept across North Africa, France 24 reports. Authorities were battling more than one hundred fifty separate blazes, with six of the fifty-four injured in critical condition and receiving intensive care.
