Australia’s refugee intake to be slashed as Labor works to reduce migration amid One Nation pressure

Australia is reducing its annual refugee intake by one third for the next financial year. Per The Guardian (World), the current quota of twenty thousand arrivals per year will drop to thirteen thousand seven hundred fifty in twenty twenty-seven to twenty-eight. This move comes as the Labor government works to lower migration levels amid political pressure from One Nation.
